Graduating from nursing in 1996, Charlotte has had the privilege of working alongside some of Australia and New Zealand’s most respected dermatologists, plastic surgeons, cardiologists, neurosurgeons, cosmetic physicians and fellow Nurse Practitioners.
Her experience in working with these professionals helped build the foundational knowledge that saw Charlotte transitioning from hospital based nursing into aesthetic medicine for the past 20 plus years.
Charlotte has since worked in boutique, large chain and dermatology clinics. She was extremely fortunate to have her skills recognised by her aesthetic industry peers and was subsequently invited to represent Queensland on the Nurses Board for Australia’s largest aesthetic medicine chain clinics.
Charlotte has also been a clinical trainer for one of the world’s leading aesthetic companies teaching total face rejuvenation concepts to Doctors and Nurses. It was during this time in 2017, she received the award for Cosmetic Injector of the Year (Laser Clinics Australia). In 2024 Charlotte won an award for Best Medical Compliance at the Cosmetic Collective Awards. In December of 2025 Charlotte completed a course at Monash University on Patient Suitability, Governance, Compliance and Ethics of Non-Surgical Cosmetic Medicine as part of her commitment to ongoing education and compliance in this field.
Charlotte believe’s that Aesthetics is a branch of medicine in its own right and must be treated with the same respect and considered thought that all medical procedures require. This is why treatments and products used at Self Aesthetics are evidence-based and TGA approved. This is also why in person consultations are encouraged. Personalised treatment plans and options are given during the educational consultation process.
Opening Self Aesthetics in 2021 is a true realisation of her love and dedication to the aesthetic industry. Each one of Charlotte’s patients is diverse and unique and she enjoy’s working with both women and men in nurturing their beauty aspirations.
